Wild Sanctuaries is a Nairobi-based wellness company offering a fully mobile wood-fired sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge for rent across Kenya. Beyond the core setup, we create our signature bush spa experience — with an African fire circle, custom shade and lounge, shower and changing area, atmospheric set design, and other thoughtful details that transform your location into a sanctuary in the wild. The result is an experience that helps people relax into presence and feel more deeply connected to themselves, each other, and the landscape around them.
What is Wild Sanctuaries?
The benefits of heat and cold therapy are felt almost immediately. Whether guests are arriving after a long day of travel or stepping out of a safari vehicle, the combination of sauna, hot water, and cold immersion helps the body recover by supporting circulation, easing muscle tension, reducing inflammation, and encouraging a deeper state of relaxation.
In a natural setting, those effects tend to feel even more pronounced. The contrast of heat and cold, paired with fresh air, open space, and time to slow down, creates a powerful sense of release. It becomes more than a physical experience; it clears the mind, restores energy, and brings people back into the present.
Whether part of a fly camp, a wellness pop-up, or a special event, each installation is tailored to its setting and purpose, with every detail designed to feel seamless, considered, and impactful.
Why Heat & Cold?
Wild Sanctuaries was founded by Rose Cochran and Jonathan Baker, two creatives brought together by a shared love of thoughtful design, wild places, and meaningful experiences.
Rose comes from a background in set design for film, where she learned how to shape atmosphere, emotion, and story through space. She leads the creative vision behind each sanctuary, ensuring each experience feels intentional, immersive, and deeply connected to its setting.
Jonathan is the engineer behind the vision. With a background in metal fabrication and a talent for bringing ambitious ideas to life, he designed and built the mobile sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge. His work is what allows these experiences to exist so seamlessly in some of Kenya’s most remote and beautiful landscapes.
Together, Rose and Jonathan created Wild Sanctuaries to offer a new way of experiencing the wild — one rooted in restoration, presence, and connection. Their combined strengths in design and craftsmanship make possible an experience that feels both beautifully imagined and distinctly one of a kind.
